The CONAGIT animal feed tradition began in Monterchi (Arezzo) in 1956.
In 1966 the company moved to Città di Castello (Perugia), the current location of its offices and plant, which were expanded in 1971.
At the beginning of the 1980's another factory was built to produce pet food.
This intuition proved itself to be winning for two fundamental reasons:
• The experience accrued during the previous decades in the areas of food formulation and feed techniques;
• The synergy between the various divisions, making it possible to optimise production, formulation and logistics, achieving higher quality standards while, at the same time, being less costly.
CONAGIT SpA distinguished itself from the beginning for its continual efforts in the area of Research and Development, which it has always pursued in a rigorously scientific manner, aimed at the development of proper, balanced nutritious formulas that respect the nutritional needs of animals.
Another factor that must not be underestimated in terms of the company's success is its unceasing interest in technological innovation, leading to the adoption of cutting-edge production and packaging lines and one of the most evolved control systems.
For all these reasons, CONAGIT SpA, is now the largest Italian producer of dry foods for dogs and cats.
CONAGIT did not develop from a marketing idea nor is it based on image alone.
